Animals of the Island

No island has life unless it has some type of animal on it. This Island has quite a few species...some you can eat, others want to eat you.

The Carnivores

Most carnivores want to eat you, bite you, and scratch you in any way they can. They are the ones that you want to stay away from...they don't provide sufficient meat and are dangerous to kill.

Snakes
If there is anything that this island has got, it's snakes. The types of snakes range from a small corn snake, to a boa constrictor. The good side is that they don't usually come out onto the beach. The bad side is that the jungle is full of them. If you are not careful, you could easily become snake chow.



Tigers
Quite surprisingly, this island has a few tigers on it. They are probably the ones who most enjoy the fact that a plane crashed, leaving a ton of kids on the island...If you don't move fast, a tiger will make an easy meal out of you....especially if you are just a little kid. Even if you are seventeen, if a tiger is hungry, it will find you. There is no place to hide on this island, as the tiger will chase you down. Better get it before it gets you, don't you think? The one thing that tigers are afraid of is fire.
Note: Since tigers are super awesome and all powerful, only staff members may rp tigers. That means that you must stay light on your feet 'cause a tiger could show up at any moment...when you least expect it.



Sharks
I wouldn't suggest straying too far into the ocean, because as soon as the water turns deep, that's shark territory. There is almost no way that you could survive to tell the tale of a shark attack, and even if after an attack, you managed to get to land, you would still probably die from blood loss.




The Herbivores
Herbivores are the animals that are usually good to eat, and normally only prey on plants and other foliage. This is not a major weakness though, as some can still damage you pretty badly if cornered.

Wild Pigs
All through the jungle are pig runs, trails that are used quite often by the numerous amount of wild pigs on the island. These pigs can be a good source of food, if one is killed, it could easily feed quite a few people. Make sure to cook the meat on a fire, though, because raw pork carries a lot of diseases. When hunting a pig, be careful of it's tusks, and also remember that a pig can probably run faster than you can through the forest, and it would take a couple of good aimed hits with spears (etc.) In order to kill it.
